• Mallet or dead blow hammer
• Small prybar or line up bar
• Channel locks
• Phillips head screwdriver

• Unbox and inventory your Maverick98 Minibike Kit
• Put oil in the engine.
• Make sure to measure how much for future oil changes.
• Assemble the rear wheel and install
• The V-Tread tire is directional - the arrow tread points forward.
• (8mm socket)
• May have to use a prybar to get the second spacer into place.
• (17mm socket, 15mm wrench)
• Install front wheel on forks.
• The V-Tread tire is directional - the arrow tread points forward.
• Use two larger washers as axle spacers, one on each side.
• (17mm socket, 15mm wrench)
• Seat bearings in neck tube
• Gently tap bearings into place using the kingpin bolt with one of the 10mm washers.
• Attach forks to bike frame.
• Use 10mm washers on top of and underneath triples.
• Use 10mm washers in between triples and bearings.
• (17mm socket, 15mm wrench)
• Attach fenders to minibike.
• Fenders are directional. The fender's longer leg goes to the minibike's inside on the front and rear.
• We will use four 6mm bolts, washers, and nylon nuts.
• (8mm socket and 10mm wrench)
• Attach the seat to the minibike frame.
• Will use three 6mm bolts.
• Do not over-tighten. Just snug them up.
• (8mm socket)
• Install engine on frame.
• Will use the 5/16" bolts, lock washers, and serrated nuts.
• Just start nuts; wait to tighten.
• Install Chain roller
• The bolt goes through the bracket on the minibike, then a flat washer, lock washer, chain roller, lock washer, flat washer, and then nut.
• Don't tighten; just start the nut and slide the roller to the front of the bracket.
• Install clutch and chain.
• The spacer on the crankshaft, then the clutch, followed by a flat washer, lock washer, and bolt.
• Tighten with impact until snug and the lock washer is flat. Do not over-tighten.
• (7/16" socket on impact driver)
• Install chain on the minibike. Install keeper on master link in the correct direction.
• Tension chain and tighten the engine down.
• Slide the engine to the front of the minibike to put initial tension on the chain.
• Tighten engine bolts.
• (½" wrench and socket)
• Adjust the chain tensioner to the correct position and tighten down; do not over-tighten.
• (12mm wrench and socket)
• Install kickstand
• Install spring on kickstand in the correct orientation and attach spring to retainer bike.
• Place the kickstand bolt through the kickstand, bracket on the minibike, and the remaining large flat washer, followed by the 10mm locking nut.
• (17mm socket and 14 mm wrench)
• Install clutch guard
• Using the hardware provided with the clutch guard, attach the bracket to the engine. The nut on the bracket will face the engine.
• (10mm socket)
• Attach clutch guard to clutch guard bracket. Do not over-tighten.
• Install chain guard
• Use one 6mm bolt, flat washer, and nylon nut. Tighten fully.
• (8mm socket and 10mm wrench)
• Line up the chain guard under the clutch guard and drill a hole in the chain guard to use the remaining spot on the bracket.
• Use the remaining 6mm bolt, one flat washer, and nylon nut. Tighten fully.
• (8mm socket and 10mm wrench)
• Install pegs
• Once the peg assembly is in place, squeeze down on the peg bracket so the ball bearing cannot pop out.
• (Channel locks)
• Install brake caliper
• Use two ¼" flat washers in between the bracket on the frame and the caliper.
• Start with the front of the brake and then do the rear.
• (10mm wrench)
• Adjust the brake pad if needed.
• (2.5mm Allen/hex wrench and 10mm wrench)
• Install brake cable
• Take most of the slack from the brake cable and tighten the jam nut.
• (10mm wrench and channel locks)
• Install the left grip, brake lever, and brake cable.
• You might need to chamfer the inside of the grip and hit it with a mallet.
• Install brake lever. Lightly tighten the nut on the brake lever so the nylon nut will not fall off.
• (8mm socket and Phillips head screwdriver)
• Install brake cable to brake lever. Pre-stretch the brake cable 10-20 times and then adjust.
• Install throttle assembly
• Route throttle assembly under flywheel cover and up to retaining bracket. Install throttle cable in bracket. Tighten fully.
• (10mm wrench and Phillips head screwdriver)
• Turn out the throttle limiter as desired.
• Turn in the idle screw ¼ turn. We will make a final adjustment later.
• (Phillips head screwdriver)
• Install kill switch
• The female butt connecter on the engine needs to be squished down to clamp onto the male end of the connector on the kill switch.
• (Needle nose pliers)
• Loosen the bottom right bolt on the flywheel cover and remove the top right bolt to facilitate the grounding ring.
• (8mm socket)  
• Perform cable management
• (zip ties)
• Add fuel
• Turn petcock on.
• Let the engine warm up and adjust idle if needed.
• After initial testing, readjust the brake cable if needed.
