Megalodon Wiring Diagram
This page is dedicated to help you understand how to wire the Megalodon Minibike Kit with your Tillotson 212EE Engine.
Megalodon Wiring Steps:
- Install the charging coil.
- Uninstall the positive wire from the Tillotson starter solenoid.
- Route the “LEADWIRE” that comes with the Megalodon kit from the positive side of the battery to the lower post on the starter solenoid.
- Uninstall the negative lead from the engine's starter solenoid.
- Rout the negative lead from the negative side of the battery to a clean ground on the engine. (We use the lower, rear blower housing bolt.)
- Route the black and white ground wire from the bike’s wiring harness to a clean ground on the engine. (We use the fuel tank mounting bolt.)
- The wiring harness has two black wires. One has a female bullet connector and the other has a male bullet connector. Plug the male connector into the black wire coming from the starter box.
- Strip both ends of the 9” wire included with the Megalodon kit. Crimp the included ring connector onto one end of the wire.
- The four-prong connector that connects to the regulator/rectifier has a red wire in it. Cut the wire far enough from the connector to be able to add a butt splice. Splice in the 9” wire into the red wire using the included butt splice connector. Connect this wire to the lower post on the starter solenoid.
- Snip off the factory bullet connectors on the charging coil wires and crimp on the female bullet connectors included with the Megalodon kit.
- Connect the two brown wires in the bike’s wiring harness to the charging coils.
- There are three wires left coming from the starter box. Ensure the blue wire with the spade connector is attached to the spade post on the starter solenoid. Ensure the black wire with the ring connector is attached to the lower post on the starter solenoid. The last wire is not used.
